relating is an ongoing research of thatcarpet studio that explores the visceral relation of the human body to the more-than-human world.
with a focus on materiality and exchange,
these experiments explore the shared physicality of human and non-human textures and ligaments.
it aims to transfigure how we come to understand and inhabit our bodies not only as social bodies but as ecological bodies.
how we come to make sense of our body in reltaion teh our environment.
a place where our body and the world are in conversation, always becoming together.

barrel is an exploration in using physical intimacy to build a stronger sense of relationality with the more-than-human world. it depicts a night-time adventure between the artist and a rusty barrel they found earlier on a construction site. the video shows them entering the same construction site at night and sharing a moment of physical intimacy between steel and skin.

geberit shows a quiet moment of togetherness between the artist and the object they retrieved from a dumpster. the 10-minute video depicts them sitting side-by-side next to the Maas river in Rotterdam.
